Starlings in Winter - Zine Illustration

A series of Tri-chromatic Illustrations created in the format of a Zine, for our Illustration Post-Graduate Course.
These illustrations were inspired by the poem 'Starlings in Winter' by Mary Oliver; and thus designed to each capture a segment of the poem in sequence. Our goal was to capture the Poem's Dreamlike Melancholy - It's cool, yet comforting, almost hopeful qualities.

Initially, these Illustrations were painted as Black and White Value renders, whereafter we applied a three-toned Gradient map.
